About Us

At CurioCity Designs, every ornament begins with a story, one filled with family, tradition, and the magic of Christmas.

Our brand was inspired by founder, Carrie Layne, and her mother, Sharon, whose love of creativity sparked a tradition that lasted nearly five decades. For 48 years, Carrie’s mom lovingly chose a special Christmas ornament for each of her three daughters.

Every Christmas Eve, they would open that year’s ornament and hang it on the tree, creating a collection of memories that grew with them year after year.

In 2022, when Carrie’s mother was living with Alzheimer’s, coloring became a meaningful activity they could enjoy together, allowing them to create new memories, even as old ones slipped away. Their time together became the foundation of CurioCity Designs.

In October 2024, Carrie’s mother passed away. But her spirit, creativity, and love of tradition continues to shine through every ornament we create.

Today, CurioCity Designs is dedicated to honoring that legacy by crafting hand-painted, limited-edition ornaments that celebrate hometown pride, family traditions, and treasured moments.

Each piece is designed to be more than a decoration, it’s a treasure meant to be opened, remembered, shared, and passed down.
